Nielsen Launch Event and Brand Identity
OBJECTIVE
Launch is Nielsen’s annual internal executive meeting. With over 150 executives from all around the world, this year’s event focused on leading with change in the new year. Under the newly appointed CEO’s direction, the theme tagline was “FEWER. BIGGER. BOLDER.” As Creative Director for the event, I was tasked with overseeing the entire process of the event design, from creating the visual identity to overseeing the creation of over 50 applications, including printed installments, digital assets, and main stage presentations.
APPROACH
Although “FEWER. BIGGER. BOLDER.” was the visual tagline for the event, the underlying theme for the year was rooted in the idea of leading with change. There were three attributes that I kept in mind when developing visuals: forward movement, motivation and transformation. For the visual identity, I used hexagons as a simplified version of our data texture brand element. In this application, the hexagons are paired with icons to represent building blocks that transform a business, with lines that represent change, positivity and forward movement. The icons I chose to use throughout the event also ladder up to the three attributes.
